This is not common with ebay these days as it only supports to paypal that is ebay owned. But now it seems that ebay is listening to sellers more seriously than before.
What’s the Reason
The biggest of the reason was the policy change in the ebay, which in terms shed many sellers from ebay. The policy was greatly affected to the negative comments where sellers had negative comments when there was no fault of them. This has been further quoted as below by ecommerce journal:
The move to change the Feedback policy was prompted by numerous requests made by the cross-border sellers who received negative comments from customers while there wasn’t actual fault with the merchants. Now eBay will be removing feedback if: the listing meets the Customs Requirements and/or the seller receives a negative or neutral Feedback comment, which references customs delays or customs fees. Merchants in turn are obliged to advise the buyers that import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
Therefore ebay is undoing all the policy changes and with it they are also changing the payment options and from next month onwards you might see paymate and moneybookers added to ebay with paypal as payment processor.
I personally think this is great move by ebay as it is listening and hopefully these changes will bring more confidence with the sellers, as they will have a wide variety of payment options too. Also this will surely help boost sales.
